TXOGA’s Member Companies Support the Community

June 22, 2017

Not only do TXOGA’s member companies support the success of the industry, but also the success of the surrounding communities. These member companies care about the well being of the communities and often show their support for these communities in various ways. Below are just a few examples of how the oil and gas industry assists neighboring communities.

In Presidio, Texas a pipeline company held a ceremony celebrating the $1,067,000 expansion of the city’s recreational facilities. These facilities, which include soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and the first playground set in the small West Texas city, were made possible thanks to the generous donation from the company behind the Trans-Peco Pipeline.

Similarly, oil and natural gas supports education. The Grady Independent School Distrcit has formed a partnership with QEP Resources Inc to establish a “Smart Lab,” a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning experience for students ranging from third to eighth grade.

These two stories do not stand-alone! Apache announced that non-profit organizations in Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico and Louisiana are eligible to apply to the tree grant program. The program supplies up to 50 native trees for planting in the organizations area.
