TXOGA on EPA Methane Rules

Methane rules released today ignore the Environmental Protection Agency’s own data that demonstrates oil and natural gas production has skyrocketed without a corresponding crisis in methane emissions.  With virtually no climate impact, the rules are a continuation of the Obama administration’s efforts that plainly undermine our nation’s energy security and put even more Americans out of work. While the oil and natural gas industry continues to make historic gains in improving our environment, unjustified political regulations only set back the cause by freezing private sector investment and innovations that are working.

AUSTIN - Texas’ production of oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs) achieved new record highs for the month of September after achieving record highs just one month earlier in August, according to the Texas Oil & Gas Association’s (TXOGA) monthly energy economic analysis prepared by TXOGA Chief Economist Dean Foreman, Ph.D. Further, as crude and NGL production has climbed, in-state refiners have processed record amounts.
