On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, The South Texas Energy and Economic Roundtable (STEER) held its annual Eagle Ford Excellence Awards, which honor companies and organizations working in or with the oil and natural gas industry for their diligent efforts in protecting the environment, developing innovative technologies, making safety a top priority and giving back to the communities they serve.

Meaningful action toward climate progress is rooted in investment and innovation, and no one is investing more in clean tech than the U.S. oil and natural gas industry. The latest example is the industry’s advancements in the use of 3D printing.
AUSTIN – Data from the Texas Workforce Commission suggests that Texas upstream oil and natural gas employment expanded by 2,900 jobs in September. Also, August’s estimated job gain in the upstream sector was adjusted downward to 2,500 from the original 2,800. Since the low point in employment in September 2020, months with job gains have outnumbered decline months 10-to-2.
Vast improvements, particularly in communications, have been made since Winter Storm Uri to better prepare the natural gas supply chain for the winter season in Texas. The oil and natural gas industry has been working with a sense of urgency to improve the readiness of the system.
Strengthening the reliability of our power grid is one of the top priorities of the Texas oil and natural gas industry. It is a multi-step process that is well underway. As with any event, industry is busy assessing potential operational improvements and deploying the means necessary to ensure expectations for future storms are met.
