Ken and Amy Maverick have dedicated one of the city’s only distilleries to the memory and heritage of their ancestor Sam Maverick, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, and his wife Mary Ann. Sidenote: Sam also went on to become San Antonio’s Mayor in 1939, eventually becoming a prominent landowner and businessman in the region.
