The Chesapeake Energy Company Donates $3,000

The Chesapeake Energy company made a $3,000 donation on Thursday, February 6, to the La Salle County 4H and FFA organizations to support the students’ activities and educational programs in which they participate at grade levels from elementary to high school in the county. Accepting the donation on behalf of the organizations was Agricultural Extension Agent George Diggans II and FFA / 4H Director and Booster Club Secretary Rosie Sauceda, joined by Chesapeake Energy government relations officers Mark Harmon and Don Laffere, and South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable (STEER) director of external affairs Yliana Flores. The donation will go into the program’s General Fund. Diggans extended thanks to the energy company and its representatives Tuesday on behalf of the students engaged in extracurricular and educational activities in the 4H and FFA programs, adding that the funds “will go a long way towards helping the youths gain access to resources and enable then to take part in activities that enhance their education.”
