3D Printing is Latest Example of Industry Always Innovating and Advancing

October 28, 2021

Meaningful action toward climate progress is rooted in investment and innovation, and no one is investing more in clean tech than the U.S. oil and natural gas industry. The latest example is the industry’s advancements in the use of 3D printing.

A recent post on the American Petroleum Institute’s Energy Tomorrow blog outlines how industry is advancing the use of 3D printing in oil and natural gas operations – a technology that can significantly reduce lead times and drive efficiency, safety and other technological improvements across all oil and natural gas segments. API’s newly released standard on 3D printing expands API’s best-in-class safety and efficiency requirements and supports cutting-edge operations, helping producers to deploy new 3D printing technologies to meet rising global demand for oil and natural gas products, according to Alexa Burr, API vice president for Global Industry Services.

The new standard reflects the industry’s focus on new technologies and innovations to meet rising global demand for energy while protecting the environment – by continuously striving to be cleaner and more efficient.
