Nicole Oakes, a crude supply and trading manager for Chevron’s Latin America team, starts her day connecting with her counterparts all over the world. The energy and variety in a day of energy trading is something Nicole is drawn to.
“Not many people can say their day’s work involves constant contact with teams located in West Africa, London, Singapore and Latin America.”
Nicole sees the role of an energy trader as the bridge that connects Chevron’s global business and ensures the integration between our upstream equity production and downstream refining systems. Traders work to procure, transport and market all major crude oil grades and condensates in order to maximize the value of Chevron Upstream production and supply needs for Chevron’s refinery system and other customers.
In addition to her direct team, on any given day, Nicole is working with multiple other groups within Chevron and a wide range of customers. The diverse teams and range of inputs are something Nicole sees as a benefit to her role.
